This Week’s #GolfChat Questions
Q1: Maybe the most impactful golf news to hit last week was the Netflix/PGA announcement that a docuseries project has been approved with some big names giving access. Some of the numbers provided by @DoerflerJared, Netflix has 178m subscriptions in the US alone and is available in 190+ countries. Do you think more media exposure is good for golf right now? #GolfChat
Q2: Hideki Matsuyama came back from 5 down at the turn Sunday and won with a 277 yrd 3W on the 1st playoff hole that set up an eagle putt. What club do you want in your hand when you need to hit a clutch shot #GolfChat
Q3: Back to the Sony Open – Ratings took a steep dive for the finial round on Sunday given the NFL schedule, down 49% from last year. We’ve talked it over a lot and while golf broadcasts are not great, is it just that football is king and why a mostly stuck indoors golf audience from Mid-West to East Coast didn’t watch? #GolfChat
Q4: Grayson Murray and Kevin Na went after each other on twitter over slow play and it went no where good from there. Unlike the Bryson v Brooks show, this one seemed more personal and people were checking in with Murray. Social media is now part of the golf world so do you enjoy this aspect of pro golf, or would you rather not see this on your feed? #GolfChat
Q5: James Hart du Preez, who at nearly 6-foot-10 and 260 is a large human and avg. 373 yrds off the tee playing the Sunshine Tour last year. He’s playing in the on an exemption in this week’s AmEx tourney and while size alone does not make a good golfer, is bigger, stronger, faster becoming a thing in golf as it has in most other sports? #GolfChat
Q6: In my 4some yesterday was a young guy who said he was going with the risk shot whenever 1 presented itself. When you’re faced with a risk/reward shot, what is your thought process in these red light/green light situations? #GolfChat
