Theme Week: Golf Fashion Submitted by @golfbandwagoner

Second Hour of #GolfChat Coming on Tuesday, March 1 at Noon PST.

During our last #GolfChat we ran a poll which suggested we run our 2nd hour of #GolfChat at Noon so more people can participate at a time that is most convenient for them.

Five of eight voters requested the second #GolfChat start at Noon PST, so be ready for a second hour of #GolfChat starting on Tuesday, March 1.

The Opposite Sex and Golf | @crissb

What Time Should Our Second Hour of #GolfChat Be?

During our last #GolfChat we proposed having another hour of #GolfChat on Tuesdays in addition to 5pm PST so others who can’t make that time slot can still participate . . . especially our European friends as #GolfChat takes place in the middle of the night.

We held this survey last week during #GolfChat (See Below).

13 of 25 voters requested more #GolfChat, so in the next few weeks we will be having a 2nd #GolfChat every Tuesday . . . (and we had 2 people who said they hated #GolfChat. How can anyone hate #GolfChat?)

I chose 10am at random and wanted to give you all a chance to vote for the time we should have #GolfChat so look for our survey during #GolfChat this week to vote for the time our 2nd #GolfChat should be.  The time with the most votes will be our 2nd hour of #GolfChat from here on out.

#GolfChat Questions – 2/9/16

#Q1: What was the most interesting thing to happen in golf this week? #GolfChat

#Q2 submitted by @1beardedgolfer: When you plan on walking and the rest of your group rides, do you walk or ride? #GolfChat

#Q3 submitted by @johnkim: Any trepidation when getting paired up with a member(s) of the opposite sex? #GolfChat

#Q4 submitted by @aclevergirl: What would make a great golf gift to give for Valentine’s Day? #GolfChat

#Q5 submitted by @RippedLinksTour: How can we grow the game in 2016 and connect with #Millenials who dismiss golf as too hard, expensive and time consuming? #GolfChat

#Q6 submitted by @cridings1: Who has a very unique way to mark their golf ball?  How do you mark yours? #GolfChat

Bonus Request by @GreenskeeperOrg: Will you ask a friend that does not golf to promise to join you for a round of golf, your treat? #GolfChat #Pledge

#BestBallEver

They also sent me an extremely nice note which said lots of nice things, but mostly just said how awesome I am.  Oh . . . and how awesome #GolfChat is.

Golf Chatter Bio: @crissb

Real Name: Criss Titschinger

What Do You Order from the #GolfChat Bar?

Bourbon or craft beer, but not during play. At the 19th hole.

One of my old favorites is pure Kentucky and simple: Ale-8-1 ginger ale and bourbon (Maker’s Mark is a go-to), with a maraschino cherry and a bit of the cherry juice.

Go to beers are IPAs. Bell’s Hopslam is a seasonal that just got released (in Feb.), much to the chagrin of my wallet and liver.

How Did You Get Into Golf?

Despite living on a par 3 course my entire youth, the bug didn’t hit until a non-golf trip to Kiawah Island when I was 21. After driving by many different courses that week, I decided to splurge and play Cougar Point. I played like crap, but I was hooked. Also, I just liked the look of golf courses, so GolfClubAtlas.com has a lot to do with me picking up a club as well.

What Are You Doing in Golf and Why?

Isn’t that a great question!? What the hell am I doing with this game?! Spending thousands of hours and dollars on a frustrating and impossible sport. Right now, I just play. A few years ago, I had a larger role in an amateur golf tour around Cincinnati (OVGA Tour), where I wrote code for and maintained their website. I have dreams of writing more golf web applications in the future, but my current commitments and love of sleep keep me from doing so. I have a blog (http://oinkgolf.wordpress.com), but I’m rearranging the format at the moment.

Favorite #GolfChat Topics?

I’m open to pretty much every topic. My sweet spots are equipment and golf course architecture, but I enjoy talking about the tours as well.

Favorite Golf Quote?

You must be putting with batteries, because that was a D-Cell. – Me

Favorite Golf Destination and Why?

I don’t have a particular favorite as much as a bucket list. Those include Northern Ireland (RCD, Portrush), Melbourne, AUS (Royal Melbourne, Metropolitan, Kingston Heath, Victoria), Bandon, Cabot, and many more!

I do think an under-the-radar golf destination is Minnesota. Great public golf and relatively accessible clubs. I’ve been to World Woods in Florida twice and enjoyed both courses there. I also enjoyed my time in New Mexico playing two of that state’s best, Black Mesa and Paa-Ko Ridge.

How Do You View the State of the Game of Golf?

Professionally, the game is fine. For the rest of us, I do think the death of golf conversation is a bit premature. Supply outgrew demand, and a necessary contraction was in order.

That being said, there are some things that need to either change or evolve. Club manufacturers need to think about their release cycles and how much product they’re putting into market. Players need to adjust their agronomy expectations (i.e. brown is not always bad and green/lush isn’t always good). Pros and courses need ways to attract and keep people at least interested in the game.

Who Are Your Favorite #GolfChatters and Why?

I haven’t really been on here too long to be able to answer that. I know @onebeardedgolfer from golfkentuckylinks.com, and it’s his #GolfChat tweets that got me aware and interested. I also enjoy @bndwaggnersbd2golf unique perspective. Looking forward to getting to know more of the community.

Favorite Golfers and Why?

Ryan Moore and Paula Creamer, I suppose. Ryan Moore because he seems like the constant underdog, but is always there in the big events. He also had an amateur career on par with Jack and Tiger, so he has that going for him. Paula Creamer because of her tenacity on the course; and she’s cute (judge me; don’t care). I was there first-hand for her dismantlement of Laura Davies 7&5 at the 2005 Solheim Cup. I’m hoping she finds her game again in 2016.

Of the young guys, it’s hard not to like Spieth and Fowler.

Also Wes Homan, who’s a Cincinnati guy and (now) married to one of my former work colleagues. He’s won on the Canadian Tour, top 10’d on the Web.com Tour, and has multiple Monday qualifiers into PGA Tour events. I pull for him every tournament he’s in.

February 2016 Surprise #GolfChat | @JimmyF1985 aka @tgrgolftraveler

Surprise #GolfChat Week

During our last #GolfChat we had some #GolfChatters complaining that they hated surprises and therefore hated surprise #GolfChat so I ran a poll to determine the consensus of our fellow #GolfChatters.

Here are the results:

Surprise #GolfChat Zeb Welborn

Eighty-two percent of those who voted said they love #GolfChat surprises, so for those of you that hate it, I’m sorry but majority rules.

Also, I do like to get questions from Periscope from #GolfChatters who don’t normally ask questions so, although I’m inviting you to ask questions on Periscope, it’s not necessary to participate.  It only helps make our #GolfChat questions a bigger surprise.

If you want to submit surprise questions for Tuesday’s #GolfChat, make sure you look me up on Periscope around 4:30pm to get in your #GolfChat questions.

Should We Add a Second Hour to #GolfChat?

One problem with only having #GolfChat at 5pm PST is that not everyone can participate . . . especially our European friends as #GolfChat takes place in the middle of the night.

In our #GolfChat survey at the end of last year, there were several requests to have another #GolfChat at another time.

To accomodate those who can’t make it at 5pm PST, we’re considering having another #GolfChat at 10am PST on Tuesdays.  My intention is to pose the same questions in each #GolfChat.

Look for our poll at the beginning of #GolfChat to determine whether or not to add a 2nd hour to #GolfChat.

What Do You Order from the #GolfChat Bar?

Depends on the day. I like craft beer and will sample some of that if the course has it. If it’s a warm day I may go with a Transfusion. That’s one part Vodka, one part ginger ale, and one part grape juice. Preferably with crushed ice and a lime wedge. Grape juice seems to only be available at golf courses!

How Did You Get Into Golf?

My grandfather started me in the game. I was nine years old and spending my summers in New Hampshire. He likes to say it was to keep me out of trouble! I have played ever since.

What Are You Doing in Golf and Why?

Well I played high school golf for four years and college golf for a semester and a half. After my college playing experience went South I lost the passion for the game. I snapped out of that after about 6 months. Now I have embarked on a quest to play the Top 100 courses in America (4 lists). You can check out course tours and my other random thoughts on my blog at tigergolftraveler.com.

Favorite #GolfChat Topics?

Anything related to golf travel of course. I also enjoy items affecting amateurs just like @1beardedgolfer! There is such a wealth of opinions in #golfchat and I really enjoy seeing them.

Favorite Golf Quote?

“What other people may find in poetry or art museums, I find in the flight of a good drive.” – Arnold Palmer

Favorite Golf Destination and Why?

As far as places I have been I would have to say either Pebble Beach or Pinehurst. The variety is so good. Now where I want to go, Scotland and Ireland!

How Do You View the State of the Game of Golf?

I think it’s demise is greatly exaggerated. Sure, there has been a market correction because we built waaaayyy to many courses. I think once that stabilizes things will be good. I always seem to see a lot of people playing. However, the more efforts courses can make to offer alternatives to full 18 hole rounds the better. Some money for 6 holes is better than none at all.

Who Are Your Favorite #GolfChatters and Why?

Jim @TheGratefulGolfer is so positive that it is infectious. He came to my blog early and I am very grateful for that.

Dave @1beardedgolfer is always quick with an opinion and has great stuff to offer the chat and on his website.

Darin @GetawaysGolf adds a lot to the conversation and has some stunning pictures on Twitter and Instagram!

Also @golfismental for his travel stories, @36aday for many reasons, and @ReGripped for his Cypress quest.

There really are too many to name!

Favorite Golfers and Why?

Tiger Woods – I was 12 when he won the 1997 Masters. He is and always will be the best to me. I hope he can have a late career turnaround. For all the Jack loyalists, this is not meant as a dig.

Jordan Spieth – What’s not to like?

Rickie Fowler – Not a huge guy, but plays like he is. Fun to watch and love his attitude. Seems genuinely like a good guy.

Many others, I dislike very few and like a lot.

What Do You Order from the #GolfChat Bar?

Give me an Arnold Palmer, with homemade lemonade and iced tea so sweet it makes your teeth hurt.

If you’re toasting (or roasting) me, you should probably do it with an Old-Fashioned in your hand.

How Did You Get Into Golf?

My baseball career ended at my high school graduation, so I needed something to do. My brother’s J.C. Snead Northwestern clubs were holding up the corner of the garage, so I gave golf a try. Coincidentally, that was the summer of 1997, right about the time Tiger Woods was making golf look really fun. A few orange wiffle balls later, I was hooked pretty quickly and deeply.

What Are You Doing in Golf and Why?

I write a golf blog at OneBeardedGolfer.com to chronicle my adventures; it helps get the crazy out of the system.

Favorite #GolfChat Topics?

I could go for weeks like a lunatic about the USGA’s ruling on solo rounds. There’s plenty of real media covering professional golf, so I get juiced on stuff affecting amateur players, both casual and serious.

Favorite Golf Quote?

Golf can best be defined as an endless series of tragedies obscured by the occasional miracle – origin unknown, but probably a fuzzy-faced Scot.

Favorite Golf Destination and Why?

Kapalua is a truly special place, and I had the experience of a lifetime at Harbour Town, but I’ve probably had the most fun on the Alabama RTJ Trail.

This year I got to play a PGA Tour (Lakes at Grand National a week after the tournament) and LPGA Tour (Senator at Capitol Hill three weeks before the tournament) host course in near tournament conditions. THAT was truly fun.

How Do You View the State of the Game of Golf?

I think golf is okay (http://wp.me/P4bZVl-rn for a longer version of my thoughts). The “Tiger Woods” effect caused an industry-wide bubble, which meant a lot of pain for stakeholders as we got back to normal. The game may be lost on “millennials,” but I see a lot of young kids at the golf course. Medium and long term, I think the game is fine.

Who Are Your Favorite #GolfChatters and Why?

Jim @TheGratefulGolfer was my first regular blog reader, and I’ve enjoyed his writing & comments since then.

Steve @dressergolf always has good & witty insights that I value from an instructor’s and professional’s point of view.

And I think Kelly @h2cgolf may be my curmudgeonly kindred spirit that always seems to illicit a chuckle.

Favorite Golfers and Why?

I love watching Zach Johnson play: he’s a shortish hitter & technician that absolutely grinds to get the most out of his game, and uses short-game magic when that’s not enough.

And I’m a homer for all the Kentucky guys (JB Holmes, Josh Teater, Justin Thomas, Russ Cochran (Jr. & III), Steve Flesch, Kenny Perry).

What Do You Order from the #GolfChat Bar?

I usually stick with wine (Cabs or Chardonnay) for #golfchat since it’s around dinner time for me. I’ll mix in a hoppy IPA once in a while. Favorite cocktails are Jack on the rocks or a martini, up with olives.

How Did You Get Into Golf?

When I was a boy our family would a take a one week vacation to a resort in the mountains with another family every August. The resort had a 9 hole course that we played every morning and putting tournaments for all ages throughout the week. I spent countless hours putting, trying to win a gift certificate to the snack bar. Since that time, golf has always been a way for me to detach from the day to day noise and spend quality time with friends and family.

What Are You Doing in Golf and Why?

I started SocialPutts to give golfers more opportunities to play golf and to help courses to grow the game. We started with a basic social network and we’ve grown to include golfer matching, invitations, score tracking, and public and private groups. We have 15,000+ online course communities, 400+ golfer groups and we’re growing every day.
Courses providing a Best Price Guarantee on their course website can market for free on SocialPutts. We also provide other for fee data and social media services that are directly aligned with the NGCOA’s Guidelines for Tee Time Distribution.

Favorite #GolfChat Topics?

I get fired up by the so called ‘protectors of the game’ that believe that the only way to play golf is in proper golf attire and strictly adhering to the Rules of Golf. There will always be a place for that, but that’s not the future of golf. There are dozens of way to play golf, and everyone should be free to play golf their way. Golf must be accessible to the masses and, above all, it must be fun.

Favorite Golf Quote?

If you drink, don’t drive. Don’t even putt. – Dean Martin

Favorite Golf Destination and Why?

I love playing the Blue Monster at Doral. I love the climate in S. Florida and the challenge of the wind. Plus there’s great fishing, the beach, fantastic restaurants and family and friends who live nearby.

How Do You View the State of the Game of Golf?

Golf definitely needs help. Rounds are down, there are fewer golfers, revenue is down and courses are closing. The Baby Boomers didn’t provide the jump in rounds many had hoped for, and now the Boomers are getting older and playing less golf. To grow the game we need to reach all golfers and give them more opportunities to play golf their way. Courses need to regain control of their pricing and drive golfers to their own website rather than a 3rd party’s tee time booking site. SocialPutts helps courses to reach these goals.

Who Are Your Favorite #GolfChatters and Why?

I love anyone with punny or sarcastic comments, which often come from the usual suspects: Zeb (@ZebWelborn), Amy Spittle (@aspittle), @beercartgolf, @connectgolf and @CenCalHack. #rake

Favorite Golfers and Why?

Jordan Spieth. As much as I like to see Bubba and DJ hit bombs off the tee, I love Spieth’s demeanor and his overall game. I’m also curious to see how good he can be and for how long. He seems to be grounded and he’s got a great support structure in place. If he keeps this support structure and avoids 9 irons on Thanksgiving the sky’s the limit.

How to Participate in #GolfChat

#Golfchats happen every Tuesday at 5 pm and Wednesday at 9 am PST on Twitter. Hope you can make it!

What is a Twitter chat?

When I left my job as a high school History teacher and started my tutoring business, I began participating in Twitter chats on eduction, the biggest being #Edchat. #Edchat members got together once a week to discuss education. A series of questions were posed throughout the hour. Members tweeted, retweeted, shared and discussed.

The 140 character limit on Twitter really helps to cement and solidify your ideas on a topic and I began to learn – a lot.

I can honestly say that in the three months I participated in #EdChat, I learned more about education than I did in my four years of college, my year in the credential program, and my four years in the classroom combined.

How to Participate in #GolfChat

Step #1: Get a Twitter account. To participate in #GolfChat, you’ll need to have a Twitter account. Setting up a Twitter account is easy: visit www.Twitter.com and sign up.

Step #2: Log in every week. To start, #GolfChat will be every Tuesday at 5 pm and Wednesday at 9 am PST. The Wednesday version is a repeat of the first session for those who have schedule conflicts.

Step #3: Search for #GolfChat in the Twitter search bar. This will show you all tweets that have used the #GolfChat hashtag. Reply, retweet or mention anything you want.

Step #4: Use Twitter tools to help you navigate the discussion. My favorite tool to use to keep up with the chat is TweetDeck.

TweetDeck

To use TweetDeck, you only need a Twitter account. Once you’re signed in, you can create columns to help you keep track of hashtags, keywords and even users. Here’s a screenshot of how I have it set up for #Golfchat:

In one column, I can keep track of my regular feed; in another, I get notified whenever someone mentions me; and in the last, I see whenever anyone uses the #Golfchat hashtag.

#Golfchat Structure

Each week we will pose questions asked by our community and we’ll discuss and debate those topics. Each question will take 7-10 minutes depending on the number of questions submitted that week.

Find out what we’re going to talk about each week by checking out the questions or signing up for the weekly newsletter.

Looking forward to chatting with you all in #Golfchat!

What Do You Order from the #GolfChat Bar?

Coke. I quit drinking about five years ago.

How Did You Get Into Golf?

My family has a long history in golf.

My Great Grandfather, on my Mom’s side, moved to the United States and the only thing he had with him, other than his suitcase was a letter of recommendation from James Braid.  He designed a few golf courses and was the head golf club designer for MacGregor.  He taught my Grandmother how to play and my Grandmother taught my Mom.

My Grandfather was the Men’s Club President at the local private golf course in my area, Western Hills, and he taught my Dad who has written for numerous golf magazines over the years.

My Dad bought me my first set of clubs at 11 years old and I slowly got more and more chances to play.  Eventually, I started working at Western Hills as a cart attendant and then got a job at the local public course Los Serranos Country Club.

What Are You Doing in Golf and Why?

I worked at Los Serranos for 7 years, working my way up to the Assistant Golf Professional while going to school to become a High School History teacher.  I left golf to pursue my teaching career which lasted 4 years.

I loved teaching High School History, but realized it wasn’t the career for me so I left teaching figuring I’d fall into something else.  Unfortunately, I made this decision as the recession hit and no one was hiring for jobs anywhere.  I fell back to one-on-one tutoring and my one student soon turned into a business where I learned how to market my business using the internet.

My tutoring business took off and I had numerous business owners of the kids I was tutoring reach out to me to ask me if I could do some of the same work for them and my internet marketing business was born.  I reached out to the course I worked at for 7 years, Los Serranos Country Club to see if they’d be interested in bringing me on board and I landed my first golf course client.

We were so successful at Los Serranos Country Club that I eventually wrote a book, The Social Golf Course which spoke to the importance of social media for golf courses.  I currently handle the social media and digital marketing for about ten golf courses and am looking to help grow the golf industry by managing the social presence of golf courses across the United States.

One of the biggest struggles I’ve had trying to grow 19th Hole Media was demonstrating the return on investment social media brings to golf courses, but recently I’ve created a way to do just that.  I’m looking forward to showing golf courses the potential for growth using social media in 2016.

Favorite #GolfChat Topics?

My favorite #GolfChat topics are the ones that #GolfChatters have a very strong opinion on.  I also love to see #GolfChat topics that create solutions for growing the game.

In my book, we have a chapter on St. Andrews and how the growth of anything really comes down to people.  The citizens of St. Andrews took it upon themselves to “grow golf” (@connectgolf says this terminology is cliche) and I look at #GolfChatters as a fresher version of the St. Andrews of old.

Favorite Golf Quote?

“Golf is the closest game to the game we call life. You get bad breaks from good shots; you get good breaks from bad shots – but you have to play the ball where it lies.”
– Bobby Jones

Favorite Golf Destination and Why?

It’s not so much a golf destination, but who I’m playing golf with.  Every Summer, my Dad, brother and I have a Father-Son Golf Trip to a golf course between 2 and 8 hours away.  It’s a weekend full of golf, billiards, cards, jacuzzis, competition, fun, and quality father-son time.

How Do You View the State of the Game of Golf?

Golf has so much potential.  The industries that are thriving today are the ones who fill peoples social news feeds with content they’re looking for.  The more a person sees their family and friends enjoying something, the more inclined they will be to take part in those activities.

Every golf course is ingrained in a community and these golf courses all have the opportunity to think more socially and get more community involvement from their local community.

Unfortunately, many local golf courses are dropping the ball.  It’s rare to see a golf course with an active social media presence and it’s even rarer to see one with an effective social media presence.

The potential is there for a revitalization of golf and it’s at our fingertips.  I only hope more golf courses begin to think more socially to get more golfers to the golf course.

Who Are Your Favorite #GolfChatters and Why?

Since starting #GolfChat we’ve had 385 people chime in at one time or another.  Asking me to choose my favorite #GolfChatters is like asking a mother to choose her favorite child.  But, I’d make a terrible mother so my favorite golfer is . . . you . . . Shh. Don’t tell everyone else.

Favorite Golfers and Why?

My cousin, Ryan Welborn played in the 1999 U.S. Open so I’m going to have to go with him because he’s my favorite.

How Did You Get Into Golf?

My dad. He caddied at a really nice club as a kid and teenager just out of Pittsburgh. When I was 9 he really got into golf and we took lessons together at a local driving range. Next thing I know we are joining a country club and from there golf became a huge part of my life. I played junior golf in Southern Cali and Palm Springs from ages 9-17. My son is almost 13 and he and I play every weekend.

What Are You Doing in Golf and Why?

Playing and watching as much as I can. Passing on the great game and sportsmanship to my son.

Favorite #GolfChat Topics?

So far for me the variety overall makes #golfchat a fun hour. I like topics on instruction, equipment and also current events. I like to laugh and yes surprise, can be sarcastic but all in fun- I am pretty open and like that the format lends to comedy and true opinion.

Favorite Golf Quote?

Caddyshack is my favorite movie of all time so pretty much the whole movie is quoteable and I feel timeless. “Don’t sell yourself short judge, your a tremendous slouch”. One of many…

Favorite Golf Destination and Why?

My dad took me to Scotland for my 30 birthday- pretty much the coolest dad ever! We had a great time, played St Andrews, Turnberry, Western Gailes and many more. Carnoustie was by far the toughest and we played in August 1999 a month after Jean Van De Velde got famous for all the wrong reasons! The Greenbrier lives up,to the hype big time. Love Spyglass and Pebble Beach as well. My dad and I want to play Pasatiempo next on our play bucket list.

How Do You View the State of the Game of Golf?

I think it is as good as his has been in a long time. Rory, Speith, Day, Bubba, the list goes on of players in their prime that could and are ripping off multiple majors.

Who Are Your Favorite #GolfChatters and Why?

The more the merrier- new blood, veterans of #golfchat all make the experience fun and a great time every week.

Favorite Golfers and Why?

Tom Watson is my golfing hero. Jim Furyk and Zach Johnson as well love seeing guys who are not power players still win.

19th Hole Media’s Top 10 List of 2015

At the end of the year, the 19th Hole Media team gets together to reflect on our successes and failures throughout the year. This meeting gives us an opportunity to fine-tune our direction and set new goals for the upcoming year.  These are the Top 10 things we accomplished in 2015.

Top 10 of 2015

10. Share Your Passion Scholarships

scholarshipsSince starting the Share Your Passion Scholarships in 2012, we’ve awarded scholarships to 17 deserving students. We have kept in contact with many scholarship winners and are still inspired by them. They continue to work towards following their passions and helping better the lives of others. This year we awarded 3 Share Your Passion Scholarships and gave out our first Student of the Year Scholarship Award to one of the hardest working students at The Tutoring Solution.

9. TV Appearance

11080661_10206382881436017_7712058961091484299_oZeb appeared on the Golf Life Video Channel for Fox Sports WEST. It was pretty darn cool to get on television.

8. Joined the Rotary Club

7. Speaking Engagements

zeb-speakingzeb-at-NGCOAOne of the things we enjoy most is educating others on growing their business. This year Zeb spoke with the San Bernardino County Workforce Investment Board, the Inland Empire Small Business Development Center, the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce, Baldy View ROP, Small Business Summit, the California Golf Course Owners Association and the Golf Inc. Summit.

Topics for Zeb’s Speaking Engagements were:

  • Internet Marketing Strategies
  • Marketing with Facebook
  • How to Turn Your Business Into a Social Business
  • Marketing with LinkedIn
  • Marketing with Twitter
  • Social Media for Golf Courses
  • Innovative Marketing Tactics for Public Courses

6. #GolfChat

At the beginning of this year Zeb started #GolfChat. #GolfChat is a Twitter chat which happens every Tuesday at 5PM PST where some of the greatest minds in the golf industry come together to talk golf. #GolfChat has grown drastically since the beginning of the year and is a trending topic on Twitter every Tuesday. We’ve met so many amazing and passionate people working to grow golf.  A highlight of #GolfChat in 2015 was when professional golfer, Natalie Gulbis surprised #GolfChatters by giving away free tickets to the U.S. Open at Chambers Bay Golf Course.

5. Awards and Accolades

Screen Shot 2015-12-29 at 11.10.01 AMIt’s always nice to be recognized for the hard work you do. This year we were extremely grateful to receive a few unexpected awards:

4. Southern California Charity Golf Classic

11207321_10101061535855630_6436920246785791462_nWe hosted the 1st Annual Southern California Charity Golf Classic to raise money for several worthy charities on July 17 at Los Serranos Country Club.

With help from many in our community, the tournament helped raise $7,597.81 for charity.

We distributed the money to several charities including: Bark for Life, Boys Republic, California Scholastic Press Association, Chino Rotary, Corona Firefighters Benevolent Fund, House of Ruth, The Let It Be Foundation, Salvation Army, Share Your Passion Scholarship, and the Wounded Warrior Project.

We had such a great time with this, we’re planning on running it again in 2016!

  • connect and work with other local business-related organizations
  • collaborate more with organizations that work to educate business owners
